Help Wanted

 

The Pommerscher Verein Freistadt is in critical need of volunteer help for several positions.  If you are willing to serve in one of these positions, please contact the society via e-mail or regular mail (P.O. Box 204, Germantown, Wisconsin 53022).  These are great opportunities to support your society.

Pommerntag 2011 -- The society needs volunteers to work at Pommerntag 2011 on June 26, 2011 at Mequon Park, Mequon, Wisconsin.  Help is needed to prepare and serve the food.  Workers are needed for the bar and beverage/ice cream stands.  Volunteers are needed to work in the Cultural Tent helping people with genealogy or working in the Verein’s bookstore.  Help is also need in the setup and breakdown of the festival grounds.  Please help and support this celebration of our Pomeranian heritage.

German Fest Genealogy Table – The society needs someone to work at German Fest at the PVF genealogy and computer database table.  Individuals are needed to be at the table to provide assistance and information.  Assistance is also needed for table and information display set up and breakdown. Volunteers get free entry, free parking, and free food and beverages.  Shifts normally last for six hours. German Fest is July 28-31, 2011 at the Henry W. Maier Festival Park on the Milwaukee lakefront.  This is the largest German festival in America.

Assistant Librarian – Wanted – Person or persons with a long record of rifling through historical documents with intent to learn more about Pomerania . Individuals must be willing to do time casing our Verein library to accumulate a wealth of information to share with other desperate researchers. Occasional hard labor and isolation involved, with time off for good behavior. It would be a crime to let our entire library treasures languish in oblivion. There is no good defense for not making excellent use of our unique resources. If you would like to turn yourself in for a limited sentence at our carefully-guarded facility, please contact our librarian, Elaine Kraft, and make a huge contribution to our society (e-mail).
